Wow...so it's been a little over...6 years since the Fruits Basket anime started airing in Japan and I fell in love with the crackness of it after seeing the first episode. And only NOW have I finished reading the manga. Damn but it made me cry like a little kid lost in the supermarket... It's always a bit of bummer when they start animating something that hasn't finished it's manga run but considering it took another 5 years to finish after the anime's run...yeah... n.n; Will have to actually buy all the volumes at some point...

so yeah, Avenue Q was incredibly funny and full of LOLZ even though i've heard all the songs a billion times before. there's nothing like seeing something you like/love live. :3 it's a shame it was short run but hopefully they'll come back again soon.

ear/headache thing seems to be gone for now. still have no idea what brought it on and doctor couldn't really find anything so...dunno, maybe i'll just have to learn to sleep without earplugs again. dah well...

so the Harry Potter drag show, Hogwarts Express, last night was filled with much LOLZ. i'm sure all the HP shippers out there would've loved it. XD i think my favorite bit was the Sexy Back bit just because Snape got down big time.

and as if my cheeks weren't already hurting at that point, the second act, a black lesbian comedian named Micia Mosely. she basically did a spoof on speed dating, with audience members asking questions as she changed clothes and personalities. blackberry74 and gtonizuka, you two would've been busting up big time.

for mommy day, went with the family to a restaurant in downtown Campbell, Olio. the food on the menu LOOKED really good but bah if it didn't take a long time for it to actually get to our table, especially my order, which came like...10 minutes after everyone else's came. and all it was was fancified eggs benedicts with a basil hollandaise sauce and some fried potatoes. wasn't too impressed. the cibatta breakfast sandwich and french toast looked good, and everyone seemed happy with those. ah well.

after that, we braved the parking situation at Santana Row to watch The Hoax, which was pretty fun/interesting. but i think the best thing about going to the craziness that is Santana Row on a holiday was that there was some REALLY awesome sidewalk chalk art, all Mother's Day themed of course, for a contest they were holding. quite impressive if you ask me. :D i didn't get to take pictures of all of them and sorry the quality kinda sucks. they're from my phone's camera so yeah. still impressive none the less!

well, kinda. n.n; anyways, it was mentioned on one of the yuri mailing lists that there will be a survival/psychological horror game coming out (ha ha) in the US soon called Rule of the Rose. of course, this is being mentioned on a yuri ML because there's supposed to be a bit of a yuri undertone to the game. Sony didn't want to bring the game over since the undertones would be between minors but Atlus felt that since it's not necessarily the main theme of the game, it should be okay. i figure, 'hey, at least it's not yuri undertones with minors that are SISTERS' like in Fatal Frame II. n.n; regardless, the game looks like it'll be a frustratingly fun play, and will probably leave me just as frustrated as the endings of FF2 did so...man, i just need to buy a PS2 already, sheesh. ._., for a clump of trailers, go here.

in other news, having fallen in love with Ayaka's Suprise English Lessons, i decided to check up on Gaki no Tsukai. uhh...Endo gets a very...SPECIAL piece. just. WHOA. i'm surprised he and the rest of the guys were okay with it. i mean, i dunno if taking a shinai to the ass has just broken their minds or what but...yikes. NSFW yo. Part 1 & 2.

whoo~ well, it was definately awesome to hear the SF symphony and choirs perform the parts of the score from all three of Lord of the Rings movies. of course, having taken a lot of music classes now (specifically the recording one), i was noticing a lot of things with the set up of the amphitheatre, like BAZILLION things to diffuse the sound. they had a slideshow/powerpoint thing set up along with mood lighting for the different songs. while i thought the lighting was awesome, the slideshow could've been snazzed up a tad imho. definately needed a bit more artwork but i can see why they would want to keep it to a minimum as well since it's a symphony performance and all. :x the sound was awesome for the most part with a few volume bits here and there i think could've been a bit adjusted, mostly for the soloist parts. they got swallowed up by the ensemble at times but no huge biggie. the young soloists were very awesome and so was the SF Girls Choir. and i feel bad for accordian man, who only had a short bit at the beginning and the end. n.n; the rest of the time, he was stuck just sitting there. couldn't they train him to play something else in the meantime? D: i was also surprised no one g33ked out complete and came in LotR-like regalia. there was one lady with a cool cloak but her dress was pretty normal. maybe i just didn't see them because they were seated in a different area? ah well.

...y'know, i went home to get my dvds so i could watch the movies but...now that i'm watching...it's so...bland. ._., maybe i'll feel better if/when i get a 5.1 system. if you're in the SF area, love/like LotR and are free tomorrow, i definately recommend going! only one more show left and it's a 2pm!

in other news, i'm...so sadly addicted to watching all the old Ayaka's Surprise English Lessons, where Ayaka of a now disbanded group from Hawaii, Coconuts Musume, randomly appears to a member of Morning Musume and gives them a random english lesson. the connect between the two groups is that Coconuts Musume's last show was at a Morning Musume one.

...i don't even LIKE Morning Musume. or at least not their music. but i find their antics on the short show EXTREMELY amuzing. especially Mari and Nozomi. they're THUGS in PIGTAIL DISGUISE I TELL YOU.

in any case, yes, it's very sad of me. oh well, i find it teh funnay, dammit.

so...after LOLing like hell at frumpysf's post of the japanese batsu show, Gaki no Tsukai, which has the familiar faces of the Hey! Hey! Hey! Music Champ guys. basically, the guys have to sit around and participate or watch something without laughing or else they receive 'batsu'/punishment. while i love the clip that frumpysf found, someone told me about an english lesson episode. COMEDY PLATINUM.

...at least not while working on (SFW) these (do not be fooled by the Bleach opening...and i don't know about the singing/dancing in the middle, nor do i really want to...). or so i would hope. seeing this video ties into the book that T got at Kino this weekend, which was full of Japanese unuseless inventions. some were pretty good ideas, some were...not. so very not. but it was a very entertaining book nonetheless. n.n;
